We are thrilled to announce that Talia, a Year 6 pupil at Thrumpton Primary Academy, has been accepted into the Barnsley Women’s Football Club Emerging Talent Centre. This prestigious programme, part of England Football, offers talented girls from school years 6 to 11 (U11s to U16s) in the local region the chance to develop their skills and potentially progress into elite football.
The Emerging Talent Centre provides a comprehensive 32-week training and games programme throughout the academic year. This programme focuses on technical and tactical skills, physical conditioning, psychological resilience, and social development, ensuring a well-rounded approach to nurturing young football talent.
Talia’s football journey has already been remarkable. Last season, she received the Golden Boot for Retford FC, scoring an incredible 123 goals. Her dream is to play for Liverpool and the England national team, and with her talent and determination, she is well on her way to achieving these goals.
We are incredibly proud of Talia’s achievement and wish her the best of luck with her training. Her dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow and excel in her football journey.
