As the term drew to a close, Team Thrumpton came together to bid a heartfelt farewell to our incredible Principal, Mrs Hurley. After 19 years of dedicated service, she is setting off on an exciting new chapter, and we couldn’t let her go without a special celebration to show our gratitude and love.
To mark the occasion, we hosted Mrs Hurley’s Happy Place Festival, a day full of joy, laughter, and activities that reflect her passions and the wonderful connections she has built with our pupils. The festivities began with a whole school assembly, where we celebrated her many contributions and shared stories of her time with us.
Throughout the day, Mrs Hurley spent time with the children, engaging in activities close to her heart:
- Reading with Early Years: Sharing her love of books and storytelling.
- Yoga with Key Stage 1: A relaxing session doing something Mrs Hurley truly loves.
- Sporting challenges with Upper Key Stage 2: A friendly competition that highlighted her fun and spirited nature.
The children also took the opportunity to share what makes Mrs Hurley so special to them, with heartfelt messages that showed just how much of a positive impact she has had.
As Mrs Hurley moves on to her next adventure, we want to extend our warmest wishes and deepest thanks. You’ve been an inspiration to our school, and your presence will be greatly missed. Good luck, Mrs Hurley – you’ll always have a special place in the heart of Team Thrumpton!
