Team Thrumpton is proud to celebrate a very special milestone – 150 years since Thrumpton Primary School first opened its doors to pupils. Established in 1874, the school has been at the heart of the local community for generations, and this week has been full of reflection, fun and learning.
To mark the occasion, we welcomed a special guest from Bassetlaw Museum who led an engaging assembly and exciting workshops across our classrooms. Children learned about what school life would have been like in the 19th century by looking at old photographs, writing on mini chalkboards, and learning about following very different rules.
In the spirit of spreading kindness, Team 5 took the celebration one step further by writing 150 hand-written positive messages. These thoughtful notes are being shared with people across our trust and local community to help brighten someone’s day and share the joy of our anniversary.
It has been a wonderful week of learning, community spirit and looking back with pride – all while looking forward to the future with hope and excitement.
