Two exceptional young performers from Team 5, Isla M and Mya H, recently took part in a captivating stage production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The show was presented by The MOB, a musical theatre youth group for young people aged eight to 18, based in Retford. It lit up the stage with colour, creativity, and a generous helping of theatrical magic.
Isla M took on the demanding lead role of Charlie Bucket and delivered a performance that truly impressed the audience. With a flawless American accent and strong stage presence, Isla brought warmth, depth, and emotion to every scene. Her ability to carry the story through numerous lines and solos reflected confidence and maturity well beyond her years.
Mya H was equally outstanding in her role as an Oompa Loompa, performing energetic dance routines with excellent timing and expression. Her rhythm, stage awareness, and natural performance flair brought charm to every musical number in which she appeared.
Team Thrumpton are incredibly proud of both Isla and Mya for their dedication, talent, and love for performing. Their commitment and enthusiasm shone through in every moment on stage. It was truly a joy to see them thrive doing something they are so passionate about.
This experience will no doubt remain a special memory for both Isla and Mya for many years to come. The West End may very well be calling sooner than anyone expects.
