Pancake Day has been celebrated for centuries – another name for it is Shrove Tuesday. Its exact date, confusingly, changes every year, as it is determined by when Easter falls, however it always falls in February or March. The day following Shrove Tuesday is when Lent starts (Ash Wednesday). Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter and is often a time people give up things like chocolate or sweets.

Yesterday we decided to make some of our own – we had pancake races, pancake dinners and lots of yummy toppings. But who made the best pancakes?🥞
