Last week, our school hall was buzzing with excitement as we hosted a fantastic Macmillan coffee morning! Parents, teachers and pupils from years 5 and 6 came together for this important cause, raising an impressive £192.88 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event was a true community effort, with our talented school cooks, Miss Tracey and Miss Zoe, baking delicious homemade cakes, while our year 5 and 6 children took on roles as hosts, serving treats, chatting with guests and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
In the lead-up to the event, the students learned about Macmillan Cancer Support and why we chose to help. They even made little flags to decorate the cakes and bunting to brighten up the hall. To encourage independence, they were prepped with questions to ask guests about their drink preferences, which they then prepared and delivered with care.
Guests could also enjoy fun activities like guessing the number of sprinkles on a cake or how many coffee cups were in a picture, and our very own teaching assistant, Mrs. Dennovan, led a lively game of bingo, complete with all the classic rhymes!
The event was a wonderful success, not only raising funds but also teaching our children valuable life skills. A huge well done and thank you to everyone involved!
